Activities beyond Kenilworth
In the wider world we actively support the following charitable work:
Kenilworth Uyogo Friendship Link
The Kenilworth Uyogo Friendship Link was started in the town in 1979 to celebrate the United Nations "Year of the Child". Uyogo is in a remote, rural area in the Tabora region of Tanzania. Our Church has active members on the committee some of whom have been out to see conditions first hand. We are active in fund raising to improve the quality of life for people in the village. We have tried to increase the supply and make access to clean water easier, to improve the health and education facilities and offer funds to relieve poverty. The Link is also supported by town Councillors, Rotary, Lions, the Churches, Kenilworth Primary Schools and the Secondary School together with many other groups. The young people in Kenilworth School have an annual Africa week and USU Concerts to raise funds and now study in their curriculum about poverty and how our way of life and actions in the West might effect the life of the world's poorest people.
